Footage has emerged showing EFF leader Julius Malema firing what appears to be an assault rifle during an EFF after party rally at the weekend.
The political party celebrated its 5th anniversary at the Sisa Dukashe stadium in Mdantsane in the Eastern Cape on Saturday.
The video shows the EFF leadership on stage, in the evening, singing. During the song Malema goes to the side of the stage and fires off several rounds from the gun.
He then hands it over to a man, who quickly ducks out of the camera’s shot, before giving a high five to EFF chairperson Advocate Dali Mpofu.
Malema and other EFF party leadership could not be immediately reached for comment on Tuesday night.
According to the Firearms Control Act, it is offence to discharge a firearm, an antique firearm or an airgun in a built up area or any public place, without good reason to do so.
